The goal for students is for every child to contribute to and become part of our growing multicultural society. Through a special focus on the Hmong language, students explore culture, history, folklore, art, literature and traditions of many cultures. Our dual immersion program give students the advantage of learning through two languages, English and Hmong.
I have a multicultural classroom of diverse learners.
My classroom consist of many eager learners who are of Hmong, Latino, Hispanic, African American and Korean heritage.
My Project
I have 10 stools that we use for guided reading and math flex groups. I am noticing that when I combined two groups to teach the same skill, not every student will get a stool so they feel left out of the group and have to use their own chairs which is bulky and takes up too much room. I need 5 more stools for those students to feel included in the group lesson and be in closer proximity of instructions.
We would also like to have portable cushions to use for indpendent reading time.
Students are sitting on the floor for a 30-40 minutes time frame reading independently or with a partner. It would be more comfortable if they had cushions to sit on.
These materials will provide comfort to students as they learn math or read.
