My students need comfortable, flexible seating options! They love working on the floor as well as at other seating options besides at a desk or table. Students learn best where they are comfortable!

My Students
My students are excited about the changes that are occurring in our classroom. We are part of a 2nd/3rd grade multi-age classroom. We are also a personalized learning building! We have 42 students with 2 teachers. We are considered high poverty with about 50% receiving free or reduced lunch. Our classroom consists of students of all races and ethnicities. We have both ELL and Special Education students in the room.
My students enjoy the flexibility to learn, read, study, and collaborate with their peers in comfortable places throughout the room.
My Project
What do you do when you get home from work? You get comfortable, right? I do my school work on the couch with my feet up. Providing students with seating options in the classroom allows them to work comfortably. While some students choose to work at a table or desk, some enjoy sitting on a crate, rocking in a rocking chair, or reclined in a recliner. Still others prefer laying or sitting on the floor! This grant will provide many different alternative seating options for my students for years to come!
My students would love to sit at a coffee table on comfortable floor cushions.
This setting allows them to collaborate with each other - just like they are having a cup of coffee at the coffee shop down the road!
