Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating can transform the way students experience learning in the classroom. By adding chairs, a side table, and a stool, students will have more options to choose a space that helps them focus and stay engaged. Some students do their best thinking when they can sit in a comfortable chair, while others benefit from a slightly different setup that allows them to move or reset without becoming distracted. These items will create a more welcoming and functional environment where students can collaborate, work independently, and feel a sense of ownership over their learning.

When students feel comfortable and supported, they are more likely to stay focused, participate, and take academic risks.

My goal is to build a classroom that meets the needs of all learners, not just a one-size-fits-all space. Flexible seating allows me to be more responsive to how students learn best, whether they are working on discussions, analyzing sources, or completing independent tasks. It also helps create a calmer, more productive classroom where students can make thoughtful choices about their learning environment.

My students are thoughtful, capable, and bring a wide range of learning styles into the classroom each day. Many of them balance responsibilities outside of school, and having a space that feels comfortable and supportive makes a meaningful difference. They thrive when they are given opportunities to move, collaborate, and take ownership of their learning. This project will help create a classroom environment that reflects their needs and allows them to do their best work every day.
