Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Having a comfortable and safe environment is much needed to encourage active learning. I do my best to provide that for my students daily. I have painted my classroom myself, along with a deep cleaning (all done by me). I truly love and have a deep passion for what I do as a teacher.

As of now, my students are not in the best seating.

The majority of our chairs are over 20-30 years old. Many are not at all safe to sit in, while others have turned colors and gained dirt that will not come off no matter how hard you scrub. Many of my students have fallen out of their seats due to them not being durable. I have found myself taping or hot-gluing chairs back together.

If you would find it in your heart to provide us with a more reliable chair for learning, that would be one less thing we will have to face while gaining a quality education.
