My Students

My kindergarten students are diverse in culture, ethnicity, ethusiasm and toward reading and energy levels. My kindergarteners come from varied backgrounds, have different levels of previous knowledge, and have different motivation levels and for academics in general. As a school, we're at 40% free/reduced lunch. I am looking forward to expand my students' higher order thinking skills while adhering to our curriculum.

This will be their first experience to a full school day filled with many educational experiences that incorporate many types of learning.

My Project

I would really like to purchase flexible seating for my students to provide alternative seating options to increase their engagement during literacy instruction. Research has shown that students perform with more on task behavior when comfortable and can adjust body movement if needed.

I have an older classroom with very hard chairs and would like to offer more stimulating and comfortable seating arrangements.

I would like to have two bean bag chairs and two sets of plastic portable stools for my classroom. This will provide a much more comfortable and flexible seating alternative for the my kindergarten class. I know they will be excited for these choices!
