My school is a Title I school where the majority of my students live in low-income housing and qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Many come from homes where English is their second language and they do not have the resources at home to further their education. My students are very enthusiastic to learn, but at this time, our classroom and school has a very limited amount of technology and high interest instructional materials. That is where your help comes in.
I am excited to expand flexible seating in my third grade classroom. Student motivation and increased engagement is the ultimate goal!
To reach this goal, I have decided expand flexible seating, as a way for students to exert energy without disrupting learning.
All students learn differently, and need a place where they can be their true selves, learn to collaborate, blend in, and thrive in our global society. Students currently have the opportunity to choose between floor cushions, balance balls, rocking chairs and bungee chairs each day when working. This learning environment provides all students an equal opportunity to be creative and express themselves, in an open friendly classroom setting. It has been such a hit that I would like to expand their daily choices with these requested drafting stools and desk chairs.
Students need to be able to move freely, throughout the classroom, which will provide them with numerous positive interactions in learning.
