Ms. Smith from Grandview MO is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students more seating options during whole group instruction and more storage options for me!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our school is in Missouri. We are a low income, high poverty school. Most of my students have experienced more in their 9 years than most have in their lifetime.
These kids are full of love and high hopes; and for most of them, education is one of the only ways to a better life.
My goal is to provide my students with a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. Each one of them has different strengths and weaknesses, but all of them are more than willing to learn and be loved. I want to find a way to teach to my students and help them to reach their potential.
Two things every classroom needs, and can never have enough of, are comfort and storage. I plan to use the rug to give all students a place to sit during whole group instruction.
Currently we have a small 4x6 rug that cannot accommodate all of my students.
I would like this rug so that all students can fit on the rug rather than the tile floor as well as have an assigned spot of their own. The thing I love about this rug is that it gives each student their own space!
I would like the three drawer storage to use for the storage of classroom materials. I currently do not have much storage for my papers and my desk is a mess, which makes it hard for me to be as organized and prepared as I should. The storage would give me more room to put things and help me to be more organized.
