Help me give my students flexible seating in my classroom. They like to move around and sit with other students. Sometimes they sit on the floor, at tables and standing up.
My students are active learners. They play sports, act in plays and know each other's families. These students understand the meaning of collaboration and learning. They know many personal things about each other's lives. The neighborhood that they live in has houses in close proximity to the other homes. They can walk to school or to their friend's house.
My school adds to this community.
The population of my students varies every year. My students are constantly changing. This year I have many students with ADHD along with one student with autism. They want to be active in their learning and are very curious. They want to be empowered to learn.
Imagine a student, who may be reluctant to learn, sitting on bean bag chairs and stools that involve some movement. My students can sit on the floor with a clipboard and a partner and work through classwork.
With this furniture, my students will enjoy having a safe and comfortable place to learn.
This will make it motivating to complete classwork. Flexible seating is a great way to improve student involvement and instill a growth mindset for learning.
They can move and be close to their partner and the work they need to do. The flexible seating will allow them to choose where to sit.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
