My Project

My students have worked hard all year to learn to read. Most are progressing well. However, there are a handful of students who need additional support as they need more practice learning the sounds of the letters and decoding.

Magnetic letters and whiteboards will make decoding and learning to read more fun and enjoyable for my students who need additional reading support.

Students will use these materials to build words. In addition, they will use the flip books, which focus on different word families (i.e. "cake, bake, sake, flake" or "sit, fit, bit, hit") and word groups (i.e. long "u" words: tube, cube, June, rule, mute") to practice decoding and reading. A new computer keyboard will be connected to our class projector (Prowise Board) so that I can project the flip books and magnetic words onto the large computer screen when I am teaching. (Currently, my keyboard does not work, making it difficult to project items on the large screen.) In addition, the Apple Pencil will be used on the class iPad when teaching reading lessons to the students.
