I teach a group of four-year-old children in a rural area. My students come from a range of backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Many of my students are from low-income homes and have different and unique challenges facing them.
My preschoolers have a range of ability levels, but they are all excited about learning!
For many, this is their first experience with school, and I want to make sure they have the basic equipment to provide a successful school experience and instill a lifelong love of learning!
My Project
I am asking for a full set of new chairs for my classroom. Our current chairs are old plastic chairs that are starting to break. We have already lost 4 chairs this year, and we lost another two last year! We no longer have enough chairs to accommodate all 3 tables in our classroom.
These chairs will help our children sit at tables for small group learning experiences, lunch, snack, journal time, and free play.
Appropriately sized chairs are important for preschoolers' physical development. They are able to properly place their feet on the floor while sitting to promote proper posture and pencil grip. A new set of chairs will help our students learn and grow!
