Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Spanish Immersion school where the students learn Math, Science, and Cultural Studies in Spanish language. Half of the day is entirely in Spanish and the other half in English. My school is part of a very low-income district where the resources that we have sometimes are often not enough for what we really need.
These materials would help organize our music room so students can easily access instruments and put them away.
The project would also supply our room with bright paper for messages home, batteries for instruments throughout the year, laminating pouches for hallway displays and station materials, bandages that match my students' skin tone, and Kleenex to not only supply the music room but also share with art and gym. The guitar straps are needed as our district has bought us new guitars and they would help add stability for the students as they play. The hanging shoe organizer and plastic bag holders will help organize headphones and instruments like boom whackers.
