My Project

Art therapy is a powerful tool for promoting mental health and well-being. In our classroom, we are embarking on a journey to incorporate markers and coloring mandalas into our art therapy sessions.

Markers offer a versatile medium for self-expression.

They allow individuals to explore their emotions and experiences through color, shape, and texture. Mandalas, intricate geometric designs often used as objects of meditation, provide a structured yet creative outlet for mindfulness and relaxation. When combined, markers and mandalas create a dynamic platform for therapeutic exploration.

Coloring mandalas has been shown to induce a state of relaxation and reduce stress levels. By incorporating markers into this process, students can further personalize their mandalas, enhancing their sense of ownership and creative expression.

In addition, the choice of colors, strokes, and designs becomes a form of nonverbal communication, allowing students to convey complex emotions that may be difficult to articulate verbally.

Art therapy using markers and mandalas can help students develop resilience and coping skills. By engaging in a creative activity, individuals learn to regulate their emotions, manage stress, and cope with challenging situations. The process of completing a mandala, with its intricate patterns and repetitive movements, reinforces a sense of accomplishment and mastery, boosting self-esteem and confidence.
