Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students excel in different learning styles. They are fun, loving students and learn at their own pace. My students are in a Special Day Class most of the day taking one to two elective classes. They receive their core classes from me. My students come from low-income households and most of them have not gone outside the city borders.
Many of my students do not have internet services.
All of my students receive packets, but still do not have the necessary tools to complete the packets. Regardless, they still strive to do their best with what they have.
My Project
As a Special Day Class teacher, my students learn in all different ways. In the classroom, these materials were provided to them, but since the COVID pandemic, they are learning from home. These items are scarce to them.
With these essential items, my students can continue to show their work through art.
My students have coloring lessons from their art classes as well as worksheets that require them to color and glue specific tasks. They have writing entries where they need to draw specific scenes, color it and write a paragraph about what they drew.
These items will help them essentially to complete their work and in a lot of ways, lessen their stress while they are at home. They can use it for free drawing!
