This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A majority of my students are from low-income homes and often struggle to bring in the supplies they need. In addition, my students are special needs students who benefit greatly from visuals and projects that require additional tools that they cannot supply themselves. They always share my enthusiasm and never complain or show their difficulty in dealing with such hardships and I would love to help them out in the best way possible.
I love being able to aid them and supply them with their needs because our students deserve the best.
I teach in Integrated Co-Teaching classrooms as well as Self-Contained Classrooms. Our students progress and show effort when they are given the necessary tools, strategies, and visuals they need to succeed. They often are also hungry throughout the day and need fuel to keep them going! They are funny, energetic, and great students whom just need a push in the right direction to try their best!
My Project
The students I teach are students with disabilities. They are amazing young children who are often eager to learn when given the tools tailored to their individual needs. As a result, each student is motivated with different types of tools and aids. The best way to reach all students is when I create worksheets that are include all types of differentiation. Yet, these worksheets and tools do need colorful, enticing and visually capturing worksheets.
In addition, our students do need scaffolds, and other helpful resources that will help them progress in the classroom.
With a color printer, I am able to print out color coded checklists, images for readings, signs, sentence starters, and group activities which will aid them during lessons and group work.
