This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class consists of English Language Learners and Native English Speakers who are very eager to learn. They come from very diverse backgrounds. The English proficiency level for my ELL students vary from Entering to Commanding.
My students are very energetic and highly motivated.
They are also caring individuals who are helpful to their peers and teachers. Many of them are determined to be successful, and if properly guided, can achieve great things in their life.
My Project
Having a colorful classroom printer will help my students have access to useful resources quickly. Sometimes during a whole class lesson or small group time the needs of students are so clear and there are so many resources available online that would be useful at that exact moment. However, not having access to a printer or copying function at that moment can hinder the learning process. Many times I'm printing resources at home only to find that while teaching a lesson another worksheet would have been useful and have wished I had printing/copying access at that exact moment!
Having a classroom printer will help me address this issue by allowing me to print/copy resources for students as it is needed.
It will allow me to print differentiated materials, especially for my English Language Learners and help me meet the needs of all my students. I will also be able to print and copy fun activities for students before a special holiday or celebration like 100 days of school, 1st day of Spring, Memorial day etc. In addition to printing/copying, the scanning function can also help if I need to scan students work to email to parents. The Wireless Color All-in- One printer will definitely be a great addition to our class if this project is funded!
