Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first year teaching kindergarten at a new school, and I’m excited to build a joyful, engaging classroom for my students. In kindergarten, children spend a significant amount of time learning together on the carpet—listening to stories, building community, and participating in whole-group instruction. The current classroom carpet has been in use for several years and is in need of replacement.

I would love to provide my students with a new, clean, and comfortable carpet where they can gather daily to learn and grow.

Additionally, I hope to create a cozy reading nook with a smaller rug to support my students as they develop a love for books and reading. These rugs will help create a warm, inviting environment where my kindergartners feel safe, focused, and excited to learn.
