Colorful Interactive Notebooks for Interactive Kids

My Students

My students range in age from PreK to 5th grade. They come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds with diverse needs. The common thread that brings my students together is that they all have some type of hearing loss.

My students' hearing loss range from mild to profound deficits.

Some students have hearing-aids while others have cochlear implants or have no devices at all. They all require assistance with communication, and often depend on an adult for clarification and/or interpreting with the use of sign-language.

My Project

The colorful copy paper and card stock that I am requesting for my students will encourage interactive learning to continue at school and at home. We need your help to make this happen! The colorful paper will be used by the students to create visually rich interactive learning experiences in their binders. The binder encourages students engage in vocabulary, grammar, reading and literacy,

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of, confidence, and competency in vocabulary, grammar, reading, and literacy through colorful visual materials,

Interactive notebooks and binders allow students to create a resource to use as they continue to extend their learning. An interactive notebook works as a textbook for students that is their own. As students create new learning pages, they can also go back and review the prior pages repeatedly and therefore build upon previous introduced material each time.

Included in the binders are simple games that reinforce skills learned. These games can be played at home with a family member which promotes interactive learning in the home environment.

I believe colorful interactive learning notebooks are essential in teaching Deaf/HOH students literacy and grammar. My students need your support to make this a reality. Thanks!
