Help paint a rainbow of understanding in my students' minds! I teach 8th grade English Language Arts to diverse learners, who have both general and special education needs. My school's population is extremely low-income; almost the entire school receives free lunch. Because my students learn in multiple ways, it is crucial for me to incorporate visual learning-- envisioning, or drawing, while we read and write-- to solidify understanding of language arts content. Plus, visual and interactive lessons help students remember the content, as well as beautify the otherwise dull hallways!
Unfortunately, we simply don't have the budget for added "art" supplies. Markers are considered as extra, not as necessities.
I know that with a vivid array of various types and colors of markers, my students will embrace learning even more fully in my language arts classroom. They will be able to make "bumper stickers" for themes they deduce from literature. They'll be able to create graphic novels based on their personal memoirs. And these are just a few of the projects I hope we'll tackle.
With your donation, you will make it possible for my students to take learning to another level. Their reading and writing won't just be about words, but about the beautiful interactive projects they can create. Help make their worlds less bland!
