My Students

Our school is located in a large, urban city with a diverse population. Many of my students come from single-parent families or from families where both parents work long hours to support their families. Often times, several generations live together in the same house.

Many of my students come from homes where English is not the only language spoken, and many have come to us from other countries.

All of my students receive free lunch. I am lucky enough to teach an awesome group of middle school students who are creative, eager, and enthusiastic. They are always interested in learning more about a topic and constantly challenge me to be on my toes. I want to teach my kids the required subject matter, but I also want to teach them to be themselves, have fun learning and to love reading! Thank you for joining us on our journey.

My Project

My students are an awesome group of middle school students who, despite their challenging surroundings, strive to be the best they can be! I want to make sure they have every advantage possible to help make them successful.

Colored paper helps my students, especially my diverse learners stay organized and focused.

I would like to get more colored paper to print out assignments and resources for them in order to help them keep all of their work organized. We use the colored paper to color code our work, for example, study guides are printed on green paper, homework on blue, and resource guides on yellow. The kids learn what each color stands for and it helps them organize their work and makes sure they put it in the proper place! The ink is needed to print out the work and guides on the paper. It is not provided by our district and can get very costly to replace. Thank you so much for your interest in our classroom!
