My Students

I work at a special education school, servicing emotionally disturbed, learning disabled, and other special education students. Our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds; over 95% of the student body is eligible for free lunch and over 90% receive public assistance.

I teach a self-contained classroom.

In this program, my students learn the basics of Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. The ultimate goal is to prepare my students for their post-secondary vocational studies. Despite their special learning needs, my students come to school enthusiastic and ready to work every day.

My Project

My students need an HP printer/scanner/copier for their classroom, along with replacement ink cartridges. They use their classroom computer for typing reports, conducting online research, preparing presentations, and learning about computers in general. In our technology-driven society, it is imperative that students have access to computers in order to be successful in college and their careers.
