Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I sponsor three clubs, Students Run Los Angeles (SRLA) - this club trains them to run the Los Angeles Marathon; 'The MEChA Club emphasizes community involvement and the importance of attending college. Finally, I also have 'Mariachi Leucatlan' a young group of talented musicians who learn about mariachi music and perform at cultural events. From time to time we hold various events in school and the community, but color printers are not an option; only monochrome prints. We will be delighted to be able to print various materials such as flyers, pamphlets, invitations, certificates, stickers, banners, and much more in vivid color. This will make a great addition to the celebration of our diversity and events to promote extracurricular activities.

With the Epson Ecotank Color Printer, we will be able to produce original, creative, and unique materials to promote our events, celebrate our diversity, and incentivize those students with recognition certificates printed in color.

The ASB at our school helps with posters, we have a school marquee as well but as far as a color printer to personalize and create colorful and interesting prints is one wish that we would like to obtain. At our school we have about 80% of our students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Our school population is mostly minorities but this is our strength. The diversity and various ethnicities that make up our student population allow us to motivate each student in and out of the class. I must mention that I also teach Advance Placement Spanish Literature, and yes, we are focused on academics and we enhance the education of each student by getting them involved in extracurricular activities.

In summary, getting The EcoTank color printer will be a great addition.
