My Project

This year, my students are more artistic than ever! I have never had students who are so into art and do so well with it. One of their favorite things to do is paint. We have had several opportunities to paint this year, including rock painting and guided drawing.

As the year wraps up, I would like to provide them with a few more fun painting opportunities.

I have a set of easels in the classroom, so I would like to do more canvas painting with them. Every year we do it as an end of the year activity and they have the best time! I have pictures from previous years up in my room as a reminder of that group.

They also love using watercolors. One of their favorite thing to make are the coffee filter butterflies. They paint their coffee filter and then we use a clothespin and pipe cleaner to turn it into a butterfly. The materials in this project will be enough to allow me to do it with my class this year and next!
