Help me give my students the gift of color by obtaining a color printer. We currently only have access to a black and white printer, which makes for very dull math games and phonemic awareness activities.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the individual way they learn best varies greatly. These kids are inquisitive, kind, and they are such wonderful leaders. They work cooperatively, collaboratively, and celebrate the growth of everyone in their class from the smallest victory of tieing shoelaces to our big standards-based class goals for the year. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a great group of learners that are excited and ready to learn!
Since we only have access to a black and white printer, our math games and reading activities are rather... Bland. I have, as the teacher, been taking home these things and hand coloring them myself. I don't really have time to do this, but if a rhyming game has a picture of a pig and a wig, having some color to them is very helpful and visually stimulating for children. This printer will additionally help me to send home color copies of things like MAP testing data for families to better see where they child is exactly. This is such a simple thing that will REALLY make a difference for my classroom!
