Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a bilingual charter school serving an economically disadvantaged Hispanic population with over 90 percent of our students receiving free or reduced meals. Our school has around 400 students, and due to its small size, we get to know the children and their parents. Many of whom suffer from different hardships.
My students are four and five-year-olds ready to take on the world.
My PK4 students are determined, clever, loving, and intuitive children. They are very curious about their world that surrounds them and they learn very quickly at this age. The children need to be exposed to a print-rich environment.
My Project
I am requesting color ink, seasonal books, and seasonal decorations We use a lot of colorful resources in my classroom, but, unfortunately, at the school, we are not able to print anything in color. Therefore, any printing that needs to be done, it's usually done at home or at a printing office.
The ink will help the classroom by allowing me to print colorful resources that we can use on our wall which ties to our lesson plan. The printed resources will also be used for centers to enhance math, literacy, and purposeful play along with any seasonal lessons.
The seasonal books and seasonal sticker decorations are a great way to introduce my English language learners to the traditions that we have in the United States of America. Please help me to give my students all the materials they need to be successful in school and in life.
