Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is a Special Day Class for grades 3, 4, and 5. Students have different eligibilities such Specific Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairment, and Autism. Most of them are at least two years behind in reading, writing, and math. Some of them have behavior needs.
Different type of out of level material is needed to support their academic needs.
Technology may support individual needs that are more difficult to meet as there are only two adults in the classroom to support everyone.
My Project
The use of printer is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in language arts and math . Using the chrome books to complete writing activities in both math and language arts. Students come to the round table with their chrome books for guided practice and to start their work. The printer allows me to print right away what they are doing, as well as provide an easy way for them to see and publish their work. What becomes a problem is the fact that the closest color printer is in another classroom and only one computer is connected to it (teacher's computer). When the modeled lesson or directions are completed, students know that they must leave the table to complete their work at their own table. Then they need to email their work to one of the adults to be able to print their work. eEven though they are able to work independently, it is difficult to check that every student has typed their name. As a consequence, we end up with missing work as multiple classes use the same printer. Having our own printer will be avoid all of these problems and will support students to see all the work they are producing,

Students will be able to simply focus on typing and and completing their projects , and not spending extra time emailing and hoping that the printer is working that day. Technology is becoming an essential part of the school day and having the tools needed in the classroom makes everybody's life easier and
