Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These children live in the heart of a large city. They are literally surrounded by opportunities, and I hope to give them the keys to open up doors - with your help.
My sixth graders are at a critical place in their young lives, embarking on the journey of discovering what makes each one of them truly special, and I can't wait to see what impact they will have on the world around them.
Being their teacher is an honor and an ongoing adventure!
My Project
Whether it's making composite shapes out of polygons, matching synonyms and antonyms, or writing thank you notes, colored paper makes education better--but it's never in the school's budget. Salmon, lilac, canary, cherry red, teal, goldenrod, or plasma pink, kids love color! You may have never considered how much difference such simple supplies can make, but colored copy paper is awesome. Whether it's the Gettysburg Address in cursive font, Personal Pronouns in Subject, Object, or Possessive case, or the lyrics to Stand by Me which the graduating class will sing at culmination, it's all better when you can print it on colored copy paper. Colored paper makes geometry more engaging, makes Past-Tense Verbs seem like a game, and it's definitely handy when you need to make Mother's Day cards.
