This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Special Education in a small rural school consisting of grades PreK through 8. My students have multiple disabilities, including visual disorders, cerebral palsy, orthopedic impairments, behavioral challenges, autism, intellectual disorders, and speech and language disorders. We do many different projects and often focus on life skills to help them gain their independence.

This year I have a group of fun, hard-working boys and girls in grades ranging from 2 through 8 in my special needs classroom.

They love to learn and we use many different approaches to help them succeed.

My students come from different economic backgrounds. Some have traveled, while others have not been outside our small rural town. They often need some special tools to help them learn. Much of what I do in my room is to teach special needs students life skills that will they need to master so that they can interact successfully with others and live as independently. I strive to empower them so that they can spend as much time as possible with their peers.

My Project

My students need unique tools to help them grow and learn. We need some new HP Printer Ink for our classroom printer so that we can keep creating colorful masterpieces and use colors to stimulate our senses!

Students with sensory needs require nontraditional classroom tools such as bandanas, musical toys, vibrating teethers, and teeth massagers!

A protective yet stylish bib can make a functional item help students blend in more with their peers. Everyone wants to feel a part of the group and we strive to support our students.

Tools we create for students using our HP Color Ink include behavior token boards, visual schedules, as well as worksheets to assist them using color prompts. We are so thankful to have this resource handy!
