This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am looking to get some additional color coded strings for our ukulele collection. These strings will match the colors for notes learned in boomwhacker music and our solfege singing, making music literacy easier to grasp as students learn to perform on a string instrument instead of colored pitched tubes.

Music literacy has shown to benefit students in other subject areas as well.

This means that while these ukulele strings will absolutely help students perform on their instruments more effectively, this musical growth leads to increased test scores and better understanding in other classes.
