Help me give my students prizes for College Signing Day. In order to celebrate their hard work and post-secondary commitment, we will raffle off a few college essentials including a mini-fridge as a grand prize.
My scholars are International Baccalaureate and Visual and Performing Arts students at an urban inner-city school. Our curriculum is both diverse and rigorous. We strive to provide high-quality education to students from all walks of life. As a Future Center Coordinator, we focus on supporting their future of Enrollment, Enlistment, or Employment for every senior at Shortridge High School.
My scholars are risk-takers, thinkers, and caring.
They have chosen a rigorous academic program to prepare them for the future. My project is designed to provide students with a College Signing Day (to include Enrollment, Enlistment, or Employment) to celebrate their accomplishments and post-secondary commitment.
My Project
College Signing Day is an event hosted every year by former First Lady Michelle Obama, and S. High School is excited to take part in a network of over 1,200 events nationwide. During this event, our class of 2019 scholars will announce to their peers, teachers, parents, and community members their intent of Enrollment (2-year or 4-year College or Trade School, Enlist (military) or Employment (at a livable wage).
College Signing Day will offer a unique opportunity to celebrate our 200 graduating seniors, showcase our student leaders and inspire young people to take the first steps on their journey to higher education.
We wanted to publicly acknowledge the hard work and post-secondary commitment of our scholars by hosting this exciting event and raffling off prizes. Raffle entry is completely free to our participating students. Your support of this project will fund five college-themed giveaways including a mini-fridge, backpack, power strip, laundry bag, and external phone charger.
We are also hard at work getting other items donated from our community partners such as banners, music, and other school apparel. Please help us celebrate our scholar’s accomplishments by donating to this project and providing some great giveaways to our scholars who are making a commitment to further their education and reach higher.
