Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in very low income neighborhood in East Baltimore City. My students are inquisitive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn. We have a diverse group of African-American and Latino students who want to get as much as they can out of school. My goal as their teacher is to provide them with the tools necessary to make the most out of the education they are receiving and to foster an environment where they feel safe, comfortable, and eager to learn.

My Project

This iPad would promote ownership over their own learning, teamwork, and collaboration among the students! Students from low-income backgrounds deserve equal access to technology and iPads as students from more affluent homes. The iPad will allow our students to be further engaged, dive deeper, and apply their knowledge in a multitude of ways. Furthermore, this iPad will not only make a difference in my students' learning at school, but also enhance their experiences outside of the classroom. Having an iPad in our classroom will allow access to a variety of learning resources such as educational websites and applications and will be available for the students to access daily.
