My seventh and eighth grade students are curious, energetic and want to succeed. They come from all types of backgrounds and from over ten countries. They like to move, they love to read and love lots of positive attention. In addition, my students enjoy an occasional reward. I imagine that the flex-space furniture option would motivate many students to work harder and that would be rewarding for many.
My students love to move and so have some flex-space furniture options would allow some students that need that extra movement a place to be more successful in the classroom.
I can envision kids rushing to get to class early in order to get one of the chairs in fact.
My Project
My classroom could use a new flexible furniture bundle. This furniture is built to meet the real-world needs of 21st-century classroom according to Lakeshore Learning. "Flex-Space Furniture" was created by educators in order to support a wide variety of independent and cooperative learning activities that take place in the classroom according to reviews that I have read and from Lakeshore Learning.
I can see students getting excited to use the new space when they are working collaboratively on projects.
I can also imagine them wanting to use the chairs for daily reading. In addition, I feel that students will be motivated to earn the privilege to use the furniture.
