My Students

My students are diverse in their academic ability, curious about their future, and excited about their futures. While some are strong readers, others struggle with grade-level comprehension.

Many of my students are a part of a military family because my school is nestled between several military bases.

Because of the wide learning abilities of my students, I have found that they thrive when working in small groups, so I try to incorporate and build on their skills through peer-modeling and teacher scaffolding, especially when reading grade-level texts.

Working in small groups, and eventually, whole class reading reinforcement, my students build on the skills and confidence they will need for their future as lifelong learners.

My Project

My students thrive on working in groups to help each other understand concepts that they are learning. They have been rearranging their desks and moving their laptops in order to work with their partners which can be quite noisy and disruptive to other students and nearby classrooms.

Classroom work tables will allow my students to effectively and quietly communicate in small groups while also enabling them to place their laptops in close proximity of each other to work collaboratively on computer-driven projects.

With a dedicated table and chairs for small group collaboration, my students can build on their understanding of concepts and working together to problem solve, communicate, and contribute to the joint completion of projects.
