Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are from all over Maryland. We are fortunate enough to be able to have a diverse set of students. Reading is very important in our school environment and we value literacy and writing very heavily. Reading and education can take you to places where you may not ordinarily be able to reach alone.

We have a unique school community that allows us to have incredibly close relationships between students and school staff.

We have many clubs, and students are very close with their counselors and teachers. Our school community allows our students to become scholars and amazing adults.

My Project

These supplies are going to support our after-school reading program entitled, Read to Lead". Students each have an individualized reading goal that they read books in order to achieve. Many students come after school, during their own time, in order to achieve their goals

These coffee supplies allow upper-classmen to enjoy a coffee-house library environment while reading and completing work.

These cups, and k-cups allow for students to make their own coffee while they are reading. It helps to make the reading environment warm and inviting and encourages more students to read.
