Basic school supplies are absolutely essential when learning. Having a pencil and a highlighter when analyzing passages helps to better each student. The furniture and bookshelves will help to facilitate a calm and comfortable environment to read and learn in. Literacy is one of the biggest indicators of success in the modern world and creating a safe and comfortable learning environment is critical for achieving literacy. Reading and writing is abundantly important to practice daily. We try to find books and passages that will illicit excitement and wonder in our students. These supplies will help us to teach our students and to foster a better classroom environment. My students will benefit from this because their literary analysis skills will be greatly improved. Being able to articulate yourself in writing is a critical community and job skill. This will also benefit my students because fostering a love of reading is guaranteed to help students on the path to being successful college students.
