My Project

Our functional skills students have been running a coffee cart for 5 years. Our original coffee makers have become worn out and need replacing. We also are going to be working with students that have mobility needs that would benefit from using a pump carafe. This would help prevent burns and spilling of the coffee.

Our coffee cart program has benefited our students in several ways.

They are able to practice greeting customers using their assistive technology devices. They are able to take and fill orders to help build confidence in customer service skills, and they are able to practice making coffee, doing dishes, and cleaning the coffee room to build their daily living skills.
