Coffee Cart for Charity

My Project

Our school has a Thursday Coffee Cart for Charity. The ESE classroom that has created this cart has raised over 400 dollars for a local animal rescue, over 300 dollars for a local food pantry, raised money for a local family who lost their home due to a fire and is now raising money for a turtle conservatory that is local here. The kids not only raise funds but they take orders weekly, figure out from the orders how much product they need, how much the products cost down to cups, materials and other goodies that are available and then brew the coffee and bag the goodies to the customers themselves. They have a traveling cart that delivers the goodies to classrooms every Thursday.

This not only financial and community service project helps local charities in need but it also is teaching these ESE children about customer service, product/demand and how valuable math is.

Every penny after expenses is paid to the charity chosen by the students for the month. A representative from that chosen charity then comes and meets the students while collecting their check. The checks are cut from our accountant here as well as all monies turned into our accountant. This project is 100 percent on the up and up. The kids even made the district website page and the local paper. If you feel like helping by contributing to the coffee cart we would so appreciate the donation and granted wish! We have the rest of the school year to raise money for 5 additional charities and will continue this project next school year! The lessons in this project are so many and we are thankful you might feel moved to contribute!
