My Students

Housed in three separate elementary buildings, the K-6 students in our school district are provided with the highest quality education possible.

Although our learners come to us with different experiences, attitudes, and family backgrounds, when they walk through the doors of our schools, they become a member of a unique community of learners who are encouraged to grow socially, emotionally, and mentally.

Our students are curious, innovative, creative, and enthusiastic learners. Our students are special because they want to learn.

My Project

The Sphero Mini Robot Ball is an app-enabled coding tool that, with supervision and direction, can be used with students of all ages in Library MakerSpace.

Students in grades K-6 can be introduced to the basics of coding using the Sphero Mini.

They can use an app on an iPad to do simple things such as drive the robot ball around with a joystick to knock over bowling pins or students can be taught more advanced skills to code the robot to maneuver through a maze with accuracy. This tool can be incorporated into activities that reinforce skills taught in core subjects to make learning more fun and engaging.
