Coding with C's 3rd Grade Students!

My students need Technology in their lives and these devices could be life changing for their engagement with robotic devices, making them turn, tilt and move with the use of an app.

My Students

My students are part of the gifted program at my school. They walk into the classroom daily looking for new ways to engage in learning. They enjoy problem solving and hands on activities having rich discussions about what they are learning.

The students look for new ways to engage in the learning process and bringing technology into their learning environment will keep highly engaged.

Being able to work with technology will drive them toward the future. Students love being able to be independent thinkers and with these devices students are able to think and show off their thinking abilities.

My Project

For my students to have the experience of coding will benefit them in terms of problem solving, trial and error, and building on those critical thinking skills. These materials are a great way for students to work collaboratively and understand how technology works and how to keep on trying to see how the end product will change. The Ollie and Sphero teach kids about programming and the importance of math concepts, both are able to be programmed to do different things. The Ollie is able to be driven with commands, and the Sphero is an app-enabled ball that lets you play, learn and explore.

Using this device will push my students to effective become critical thinkers.

Students will be able to compete in the world today with all the technology devices that are given. These devices will open the students' experiences and bring out the love of learning even more. Please help fund our Coding Fridays.
