It makes it much more entertaining to complete when the pages are colorful!\r\nThe multiple reasons the trampoline is such a game changer is it provides not only incredible brain breaks for physical activity, it makes learning so much fun! Students jump while counting by 1's, 5's or 10's, along with spelling sight words etc. It provides a tool for daily crossing the mid line, which is critical for literacy development. The left right brain connections helps strengthen the neural connections between the two hemispheres of the brain, which is essential for developing important cognitive skills like reading, writing, math, and problem-solving, all of which heavily rely on coordinated movement between the left and right sides of the body; essentially, it allows children to effectively use both sides of their brain together. The students were all hugging each other and jumping up and down literally when they saw all of our new supplies! These resources have allowed students to explore real engineering concepts—such as building structures, testing stability, and solving design challenges—in ways that are meaningful and engaging. The impact has been incredible: students who were once hesitant now eagerly jump into problem-solving, collaborate naturally with classmates, and show greater confidence in their ability to create and innovate.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite classroom moments happened during our first engineering challenge. Students were asked to build a bridge strong enough to hold a stack of books using only the pieces from the kits. Immediately, the room filled with energy. Students worked in teams, measuring, adjusting, and testing their ideas. When one group's bridge successfully held every book we stacked, the entire class burst into cheers. They weren't just excited about the result—they were proud of their teamwork and perseverance.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their eyes lit up. Some gasped, some clapped, and a few whispered, \"Is this really for us?\" They were amazed that these high-quality tools were theirs to explore, thanks to the generosity of donors. That moment alone reminded me why projects like this matter so deeply.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include continuing our engineering unit by introducing challenges that connect to real-world problems—such as designing earthquake-resistant towers or creating simple machines to solve everyday tasks. Students will document their ideas, revise their designs, and reflect on their learning just like real engineers. These resources will support them throughout the entire unit and beyond, allowing for creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration all year long.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the opportunity to learn in such meaningful, hands-on ways.
