Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to code online, however, I don't think they see the real value in it. I want to take it a step further and show them just what coding skills can do for them!

I want to give them coding challenges, using the requested coding robot kits and batteries, and let them figure out how to solve the challenges.

I want my students to build the robot and then design paths for the robots to follow. Students will have to problem-solve issues and figure out how to get the robots to reach the end of the path. The older the students, the more twists and turns I will require them to include in the paths they create for their robot. Many jobs in the future will involve coding skills. I want to give my students every chance to see what types of jobs are out there for them. Coding is a skill they don't typically hear about except in my classroom. My students would be so excited to be able to code robots and see their work come to life!
