This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 9 to 11 years old.

Most of the students are Hispanic. They are willing to engage themselves in learning new and enlightening tasks. The students are very curious and creative when they attempt new projects. These students form a new generation of learners who need to use their creative senses to further benefit their learning. They have the desire but lack the opportunity.

My Project

My students need two Lego Mindstorms Kits to expand their ingenuity and creativity skills. Success enhances learning. These support materials are needed for my students to be successful with the Common Core curriculum which they will encounter in their current and forthcoming grades. In this kit there are specific functional materials that bring real-life situations to the classroom, e.g. reading and applying Code (programming) is a new language for them, which is needed to attain technological and engineering jobs, plus ingenuity and creativity in any job is highly desired. Learning to collaborate and cooperate among peers is great for growth their mindset. These real-world situations will help my students develop connections to their life.
