Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at this school are eager to learn, but they face many obstacles both inside and outside the classroom. They are generally lower socioeconomically, and they often face adversity in the community due to crime and other factors. They try to leave their troubles outside the school though, and focus on learning.

Once in school, they are inquisitive, enthusiastic and ready for any challenge.

They respond positively to innovative teaching techniques, including STEM activities. I am very proud of all my students and how hard they work.

My Project

We need an iPad for our new learning. Our school has received a Vex Super Robotic Kit thanks to the Leroy Nelson Team Grant! As a result, and for the first time, we will have a Robotics Team at our school which consists of eight 4th and 5th grade students.

This iPad will help our team with the coding program and our Vex Robotics projects.

It will help engage our students in other various STEM activities and projects throughout the school year. This is the first school year that our school and students will participate in robotics competitions. Our students are excited and looking forward to getting this opportunity to learn to code and use robots!
