Our classroom computers are old. They are obsolete. We use several online curricula such as Moby Max, Accelerated Reader, Reading A to Z, and others. These online tools are very important to our class, but the old computers can no longer run the programs. The old operating systems are not supported by the current software. The old computers cannot be updated either. The cost of new computers is prohibitive, so we are going with the chromebooks. My students need the chromebooks to access online resources to enrich their learning. This technology motivates my students to do their best work. They'll be able to use them to write their compositions, for research projects, both written and oral. Also the small size of the netbook will allow transportability so that they can be easily shared among each other both individually and in groups.
