Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students will enter kindergarten this year, and many did not go to pre-school or have any type of educational experience.
Over ninety-seven percent of students at my school are categorized as socio-economically disadvantaged.
This means most students experience significant challenges outside of school. Despite the challenges they face, they have the desire and capability to learn. I look forward to continuing to create meaningful teaching experiences that will be the basis for which they learn for the rest of their lives.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will give them access to coding. While integrating coding with reading and math, students will be able to code robots to show what they know. The spheros, ozobots, and coding mouse and awesome tools that are naturally differentiated for various abilities. These tools will start opening up the world of technology for students. The tech field is one of the fastest growing industries, and, by exposing my students to it now, I will be opening their mind to endless possibilities. Thank you for your consideration of my request!
