Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in an urban environment where English is a second language. They come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. My goal is to provide a learning environment that will foster their imaginations, inspire the children to succeed, and enhance their knowledge.

My students are warm, kindhearted and inquisitive individuals who deserve the proper resources to enhance their learning.

My classroom is an inclusion setting. Any contributions are greatly appreciated and will help instill a love for learning in twenty- ones individuals.

My Project

My students are exposed to the basic foundation of coding. This is accomplished through free websites such as Tynker, CodeMonkey and Code.org. My students will understand commands such as move forward and turn right/left. Additionally they will be able to rotate characters. They also will understand concepts such as looping. I would like to build on this knowledge and provide an experience where they can move an object that is not on their screen.

This kit will provide a memorable experience for my students to learn coding!

My students will use this Lego kit to build robots and move them using an app. This will be used during STEM lessons conducted on Fridays.
