This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I love that my students are eager to learn and explore new things. I teach a variety of students from sixth through eighth grade. These students enjoy hands-on projects such as coding and robotics. However, what makes these students special is that they are very creative and they think outside of the box when working on projects. These students love science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) projects. These students love to use their creativity to find solutions for local and global issues.
These students can succeed at anything when given the right educational tools.
My Project
This project is about using coding and programming to help students to code using robots. Learning to code not only causes students to come up with solutions to issues, but these skills are transferable to other subjects where the student may use critical thinking skills. In this particular project, the students will use mbots to write lines of code to program the mBot to carry out a particular function.
When working on STEM projects, my students are noticeably more engaged in hands-on learning with the right tools.
The students work more and are less disruptive of their peers when they have the technology they need to complete assignments.
