Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school district places an emphasis on 21st century learning, particularly computer programming. It is my goal to make coding concepts fun and accessible for all ages, kindergarten through eighth grade. Introducing such abstract concepts can be a daunting task, especially for primary aged students. With the materials from this project I hope to introduce coding in a fun and accessible way.
Through the books' colorful illustrations, relatable characters, and hands-on activities, I'll be able to deepen students' understanding of algorithms, sequencing, loops, patterns, and overall problem solving skills.
My students are curious and eager to learn new things. It is my ultimate goal to foster an early interest in coding and technology, and making those STEM connections through storytelling will surely propel them to new heights of creativity and problem solving!
