My Project
Reading is a fundamental skill that will follow you through life. Our classroom reads a variety of stories that are diverse and inclusive for all students. Also, our stories relate to real world experiences and events that take place around them. With the winter holiday approaching, we thought it would be fun to create a project that involves a sweet treat while reading a winter story.
Research has shown that real life props used while reading a story has a positive impact on a child's reading.
It can increase motivation and engagement while reading. Props can also enhance the reading experience making reading more memorable for students.
This project was created to include a hot cocoa bar for students while reading a winter story. Students will be able to sip hot cocoa while they read a winter story before their winter holiday break. The hot bar will include candy canes, personalized disposable cups with their names, and toppings that students can choose before beginning their story. With your help, this project will make a lasting impression on our students.
