My students need a mobile teaching cart, a backpack storage cart, and some tray storage. These do not take up a lot of space and can be moved to store their books, bags, and purses during class time.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Clear our clutter! Our dance room is very limited on storage space.

Our dance students are very dedicated to dance.

Moreover, they are dedicated to all of their studies. They are often bogged down with books and assignments from their 7 other classes in the day. Many of our students participate in several extra curricular activities as well.

My Project

We are requesting a movable cart, movable storage for backpacks, and a set of classroom cubbies. We share the dance room with the drill team here at school. We do have lockers here in the dance room, but they are designated to the drill team. While both groups are helpful and share with each other, there simply is not enough space to store all of the students' belongings during class. This means that all bags, purses, books, and other items are left on the floor during class. This is not only a safety hazard for our students, but it also eliminates much needed rehearsal space.

Having enough storage for all of our students would help us immensely.

The floor would be cleared of clutter greatly decreasing the chance of injury. Our students would be able to use the entire floor space of the dance room, which we have never been able to do. Not only will this protect our students physically, but it will also protect their belongings, both of which can be irreplaceable.
