Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, perceptive, inquisitive and so much fun. They are eager and willing to learn what works best for them to thrive socially and emotionally. We incorporate a variety of SEL activities that engage and challenge them to be creative with their solutions for obstacles in school. There are never any wrong answers in our classroom community, and we respect, appreciate, and value all personality quirks in the pursuit of social/emotional success.

I am an Inclusion and Social Behavior Skills teacher and feel very lucky to have such a bright and emotionally intelligent group of students.

My Project

We learn a variety of coping skills in our Social Behavior Skills class. My students work on becoming self-aware, learning what makes them stressed, sad, or happy and use strategies they can use to help them center themselves throughout the school day.

In our class, we set up a system for students to earn points throughout the day in their classes.

If they can communicate their social and emotional needs healthily, they earn points to spend on prizes at our "Club Day Reward Store." We are grateful and appreciate you for helping us set this reward system up in our class.
